Am I the only one who want to know more about Robert? I can't help but like him to some degree, yes, he liked to drink, whore and fuck to the point in leaving seven kingdoms to financial ruin, but at the same time there is a natural gregarious, part of him, and in what we know of his youth he seems like someone who laughed often, friendly, if with questional morals, in best terms a great friend, a feirce friend, but mayhaps nt the best lover for more than a night. Then there was Lyanna, He loved her again feircly ar Eddard, maybe more for the fact that he had to fight for her, and fight he did and losing her, and winning the war left him a shell of a man. Maybe what would have been best would be for him to do as he wished "live as a sellsword, fuck and fight...ect. instead of being king, something he just wasent made for. Still despite all, i like robert baratheon, the warrior and friend y'know

Had he not be such a Casanova, I doubt Lyanna would have ever been tempted by the charming fool that was the Prince of Dragonstone. That was the worry she had for him, to begin with. I like him too, but he can only blame himself for his problems. Not to mention, he ruined his marriage with Cersei early on by whispering Lyanna's name into her ear in bed, on their wedding night -- she was infatuated with him at one point, we can all see why that ended and it wasn't just the weight gain.
(Regardless, I think there's ALOT more to the Lyanna fiasco than fans (especially the Rhaegar ones) like to theorize, and nothing romantic.)

This is such an incredible piece. Just browsed your work, and all of it is lovely, but this one really really stands out in a lot of ways. I'm a big fan of the books myself, and seeing Robert Baratheon in his younger years is so cool. The series really dictate the way I envision some characters (started reading at halfway HBO's season one), but this does justice to both readers and viewers in my opinion. Then there's the crop. If someone would've been a photographer on Westeros I think he couldn't have made a better picture of this man. The stare into the distance, the armor, basically everything worked out great. That and he reminds me of old pictures from my father :) :+fav:.
